Mind Mastery Minutes - V1.15

Modern life perpetuates excessive consumption.
You need to stop being a Consumer and start being a Producer…
Here’s why…
Consume:![]() Take up (everything) altogether. Subtract value / resources. | Produce:![]() To lead (others) forward. Add value / resources. |
I really love the semantics of these translations.
When applied to humans:
Consumer - Takers. People who consume more than they produce (net negative to society).
Producer - Givers. People who produce more than they consume (net positive).
Consumers tend to be:
| Producers tend to be:
|
Consumption is all about scarcity.
Producing is all about abundance.
Producers are the few and are rich. Consumers are the many and are poor.
But this isn’t all about money.
It’s about creating a more balanced life and achieving greater happiness and success through serving others.
As a society, we are consuming more than we produce.
But why is this a problem?
Examples:

In our planets ecosystem, there must be balance for it to be sustainable.
Scarcity:
If there are more consumers than producers, the ecosystem will be imbalanced.
Resources will run out and life on the planet would die.
Abundance:
If there are more producers than consumers,
The planet would be abundant with life and food.
What about the planet?

As we all know…
At our current rate, we will exhaust the planet of space and finite resources.
Greed and overpopulation are causing an imbalance.
If everyone focused on producing solutions,
Instead of consuming finite resources
We would probably create the technology to combat global warning and have a more abundant planet and economy.
Yes, this is Utopian thinking.
No, this isn’t my personal manifesto for climate action.
I’m just trying to illustrate that if everyone produced more, everyone would be better off.
Consuming is great.
I consumed a hell of a lot of good food and drink last weekend.
But it’s all about balance.
All I want to get across is this week is this:
Just try and produce a bit more than you currently are, and see what happens.
If you swapped the time you spend consuming for producing, what would happen?
Think about it like this:
When you consume content online, you are entertained.
Which is nice…
But what you’re also doing is building someone else’s dream.
Spending your time consuming and paying them.
When you could be producing and paying yourself.
REMEMBER:
Every single successful person (who didn’t get lucky) is a PRODUCER.
So…
Make stuff.
Build or sell something.
Do something for others.
Put yourself out there.
Try.
Start focus on producing, not consuming.
Here are some ways to do just that:
Reduce Consumption:
| Increase Production:
|
I came across this concept from author MJ DeMarco.
This is one of the best books I’ve read about life and business.
For £7.
(ignore the title, it’s not a get rich quick scheme.)
Instead of digging for gold, buy shovels.
Producers are the few and are rich. Consumers are the many and are poor.
Cheers for reading!
