The 3 Habits Every Successful Person Does...

Mind Mastery Minutes - V1.8

If there’s one thing I’ve realised…

Over 2 years of self-improvement.

It’s that all successful people have one thing in common:

Consistent, daily habits.

I’ve studied hundreds of books, podcasts and interviews on habits.

And I’ve found something interesting…

There are 3 habits that 99% of hyper-successful people have…

Here’s why you need to adopt them:

1. Self-Learning:

If you continuously self educate you will never stagnate.

Instead of scrolling and watching TV, successful people spend their free time very carefully.

Author Tom Corley shares that 88% of wealthy people devote at least 30 minutes daily to self-improvement.

I know this sounds boring.

After a long day, you might prefer to relax and have the evening off.

I feel the same.

But it’s just 30 minutes.

We can all find 30 spare minutes each day.

That’s just 2% of your time.

Spending 2% of your time on your growth for a few days won’t do anything.

Only doing it consistently for a few years will.

This is the power of compounding.

Find 30 minutes of your day and commit to:

  • Reading

  • Learn a new skill

  • Taking an online course

  • Learning a foreign language

2. Setting Goals:

Goals are hard-wired into our brains.

Having a goal we are working towards has been shown to make us happier.

Not only makes you achieve more, but also feel better doing it.

Without goals, we have no direction.

So experiment with setting goals for the day, week, month and year.

How do successful people set goals?

According to G. Doran, A. Miller and J. Cunningham, you need to be SMART about your habits.

Make them:

Specific
Measurable
Achievable
Relevant
Time-Bound

What most people do is dream big and work backwards.

  1. Imagine your dream life (the person you want to become).

  2. Write down EVERYTHING that life would entail (work, family, finance, fun).

  3. Then work backwards, what would you need to do to have that life?

  4. Think of the goals and actions you can do that will move you closer to that dream life.

  5. Set yearly goals and check your progress every month or quarter.

3. Reflection:

The hyper-successful don’t let life pass them by.

A common habit they all have is reflecting on experience.

Self Reflection helps us become mindful of our decision-making process and allow us to learn from experience.

Try asking yourself these questions every day:

  • What went well today?

  • What could I have improved?

  • Is anything holding me back?

Or these practices:

  • Daily Journaling

  • End of week reflecting

  • Practicing mindfulness

  • Meditation

Missing once is an accident. Missing twice is the start of a new habit.

James Clear

Chains of habit are too light to be felt until they are too heavy to be broken.

Samuel Johnson

Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going.

Jim Ryun

A nail is driven out by another nail; habit is overcome by habit.
